A Safe and Friendly Environment for Your Child

Tender Touch Occupational Therapy, P.A. is a full pediatric occupational therapy service specializing in sensory integration, Wilbarger therapeutic protocol “brushing”, Handwriting with the Handwriting Without Tears program, self-regulation training and therapeutic listening. We provide pediatric occupational therapy services to children from birth to 21 years of age. At Tender touch, occupational therapy is provided in a fun, safe and supportive environment where your child can develop the skills they need to be successful in school and in their home.

An individual occupational therapy evaluation is performed for each child. At Tender Touch we believe that a complete evaluation and comprehensive goals ensure appropriate treatment. Based on the evaluation, a recommendation for occupational therapy may be made. The report will be discussed and goals will be developed to meet each child’s needs. Each session will be individualized to address the child’s goals.

Activities and recommendations are provided to be incorporated into a home program.

How Therapy Works

At Tender Touch, your child will be guided through activities that challenge his or her ability to respond appropriately to sensory input by making a successful, organized response. Activities will provide vestibular, proprioceptive and tactile stimulation and are designed to meet your child’s developmental needs. Emphasis is placed on autonomic sensory responses in the course of a goal- directed activity.

What to Expect in Therapy

When therapy is successful, your child will automatically process complex sensory information in a more effective manner. Very often, parents report that their child seems to be better put together, more self-assured and better organized.
